Snow Day

We finally got a little snow. It stuck long enough to play out in the snow. The kids had a lot of fun. Dad got a lot of exercise pulling the kids around the yard in the shovel. We even made snow angels.

After we had our fill of the cold snow, we came inside popped popcorn, had hot chocolate and watched a movie.

Christmas Day

We had a lot of fun Christmas morning. We got up pretty early and opened our presents. Thing 1 loved opening presents. Thing 2 was more interested in eating any orange he saw. Thing 1 liked the oranges too. After we opened presents we went to Grammy and Papa Stewart’s for our traditional breakfast. We had sour dough waffles and apple sausage ring. Then we went home, the kids took a nap and then we went to church.

After church we went back to Grammy and Papa’s for dinner and the barn trek. We all go to the barn and my Dad reads Luke 2, then we sing Christmas songs. Afterward we went inside opened presents and had dessert and eggnog. Cousin A had a really good mustache from the eggnog. Charlynn laid Perke #2 on the ground and my kids loved talking to him.

We had very fun Christmas. I loved watching the kids enjoy the season. I’m excited for next year.

I need to go through the videos I took and post some of those, I will save that task for another day.

Pink Presents

Thing 1 asked for pink presents. I had to take a picture after Santa left the presents so we could see what he left.

Jake gave me the angel and stand for my nativity. I think I have most of the pieces now, I don’t know what he will do next year.

Thing 2 has been coming up with some pretty good ones lately. The other Jake brought the kids to Wal-mart to visit me at work and to pick up a few things. There was a man in a motorized cart with a beard at the pharmacy counter. Thing 2 says "hi Jesus, how you doing Jesus" over and over again. I tried to tell him it wasn't and to stop, Jake tried to get his attention focused on something else, but it didn't work. Jake had to leave and came back after the man had left. I can't help chuckling each time I think about it.

Yesterday, I was trying to explain that the kids shouldn't jump on my lap because there is a baby in my belly. Both kids wanted to see the baby. We explained that it would be a while before we can see the baby. Today, Thing 2 came up to me pointed to my belly and said "baby's here?" I said yes, he then pulled up my pajama shirt just enough to see the top of my pajama pants and said "oh that's cute."

At church on Sunday there were some flowers on the clerks desk. Thing 2 said, "Oh, white and pink flowers, I love pink flowers." Everyone around us snickered.

Santa at the Ward Party

Santa came to our ward party. The kids still wouldn’t sit on his lap but they got close enough to get their bag of candy. Thing 2 said he wanted a dinosaur for Christmas. Thing 1 said she wanted presents for Christmas, when we asked what kind she said pink.

Christmas PJ’s

Christmas Eve we opened a couple presents. Thing 1 got pig slippers and cute jammies. Thing 2 got monkey slippers and cute jammies. I got a very nice warm snuggly robe.
