Hogle Zoo

We visited the Hogle Zoo in the morning before Tom’s flight arrived. In fact, we barely made it to the airport before he came down. His flight was 45 minutes early.

If you ask the kids what they saw at the zoo they will say “amnimals” and if you ask them what their favorite animal is they will tell you the elephants and that elephants say “ahh choo”.

It was a fun morning, minus the barfing in the car (Thing 1) right before Malad. We thought it might be motion sickness and got some Dramamine, which she spit out. That night Thing 2 barfed several times. Then the next day Jake came down with it. Then the next day Thing 1 had it really bad. I had gotten really sick the weekend before after going to the Eastern Idaho State Fair and I thought it was food poisoning (unfortunately it wasn’t).

Hopefully our next adventure won’t be quite so much of an adventure. We didn’t have any accidents during our driving to Salt Lake to Burley and home. Each child did have an accident at Grandma Whipple’s house because they were having to much fun.

Welcome Home Elder Whipple

Last week Elder Whipple came home. We went to the airport to meet him. We have had a lot of fun with him since. We went to Burley after the airport to hang out and I got to go play tennis with him and Phil and Bridgett. Then this week he came to help us paint. We are glad he is home but it is hard to remember he is home when we are saying Family Prayer.

We also need to welcome Jeff home from Iraq, he got home yesterday. We are excited for his family to have him home.

Happy Birthday Bridgett

Thing 1 and Thing 2 share their birthday with Aunt Bridgett. We took a video to send to her, but it didn’t send. I know she can see it on the blog.

Happy Birthday Bridgett

On a side note, Thing 1 snuck out of bed tonight to use the potty, she pulled off her pants and “night time underwear” and went “stinky go potty” all by herself. No accidents all day long!! Hopefully it continues.

2 Years

Thing 1 and Thing 2 have been a part of our family for 2 years. It is amazing how fast time flies when you are having so much “fun”. We love these two little ones and are blessed to have them in our home. We had a fun birthday party with “stuffed animal” cupcakes (as requested by Thing 1). The kids got just what they wanted. Thing 1 said she was getting a “bike” and that Thing 2 was getting “bubbles”. To be fair we got each of them their own trike with a helmet.

Thing 2 giggled and said “hi” to his lion cupcake and then ate the ice cream, he ate a normal cupcake but didn’t touch the lion. Thing 1 started with the marshmallow ears on her bunny.

We had our two year well-check with the doctor. Here are their stats

  • Thing 1
    • 28 lbs (65th percentile)
    • 32.75 inches (25th percentile)
  • Thing 2
    • 27.5 lbs (45th percentile)
    • 32.5 inches (10th percentile)

They are both very good at talking. They say please and thank you without to much coaxing. They can sing a lot of the ABC’s, itsy bitsy spider, twinkle twinkle, baa baa black sheep, Mary had a little lamb, and more songs. They count to ten but skip six and nine. They know body parts (some a little to well). They remember names and who belongs with whom when talking about families. Thing 1 loves her new cousin “perke 2” and says his name over and over. She loves to touch his toes because that is the only part of him I let her touch because he is to little.
