33 Weeks

So this picture is actually 31 weeks. I haven’t taken a new picture since then, but I wanted to post that we are getting there. I have less than 6 weeks to go, hurray! Well kind of hurray, we are not ready at all. We need to move the twins upstairs to their new bedroom and clean things up. This week I finally went through the baby clothes. Consolidated and sent stuff to DI and Charlynn’s house for Perke #2.

I’m feeling large and everyone keeps asking when I’m due. I’m not sure if people are surprised when I tell them because they think I’m small or almost ready to pop, but most people act a little surprised when I tell them my due date.

I’m still doing fine, I don’t have much swelling even after a 10 hour day at work. My blood pressure, urine, and sugar have been fine at my appointments. I’m still tired, but I have been for the past three years, just a little more so since starting this pregnancy. I have some heartburn, but I don’t feel a baby in my ribs like I did last time.

It is getting harder to carry the kids around. I usually make them walk back to bed in the night rather than carrying them. We also have been trying to get them more independent at getting into the car and washing their hands with a stool, because I won’t be allowed to lift them for 6 weeks.

Thing 1 has been hugging my belly “the baby” and giving it kisses recently. I hope they both love the baby when it comes.

Fire

We went on a date to look at cars and see the new Avengers movie. On the way home we could see some smoke coming from Blackfoot. When we got closer we saw that the smoke was coming from my parents property or their neighbors.

I called to see if the kids were okay and if my mom and dad were okay. They were all fine, but the trees got some fire damage and it took a while for the firefighters and my parents, some friends, neighbors, and Jake  to get all the hot spots put out. One of the pine trees was shooting up flames, we missed that part but my mom was afraid all the pine trees were going to burn, it looked like only 1 or 2 are ruined. 

Thing 2 is a little apprehensive about fire trucks, but Thing 1 got her picture taken with the fire truck. Not a great situation but it could have been a lot worse. The house, yard, and out buildings are all fine.

Songs

Today after church Thing 1 was yelling at Thing 2 and Thing 2 yelled back stop yelling. I told them to both go get ready to go, as they were walking out of our room. Thing 2 started to sing “Jesus Said Love Everyone”. Thing 1 put her hand on her forehead in disgust. I guess I have sung that to many times to remind them be kind to each other.

At my sister’s house today Thing 2 found a top. He started to sing the dradle song. He sang all the words, how did he even know what a dradle is? Where did he learn the dradle song? Jake said they learned it from Caillou, but it has been a long time since they saw that one.

I’m beautiful

Tonight Jake was out mowing the lawn, the kids each needed a ride. Thing 1 told Jake, “I’m Thing1 and I’m beautiful”.

At dinner the kids were pretty hungry, Thing 2 said “I’m Thing 2 the eater”. I don’t know where they come up with these things.

Thing 2 found the remote for Jake a while back and said, “Thing 2 to the rescue”.

Thing 1 walked out the door a few weeks ago and said, “I just want to be naughty”.

Thing 2 says, “I’m hungary” and we have having a “pininic”. he liked to add syllables I guess.

Both kids are getting better with numbers. Thing 2 counted to 13 the other day all by himself. They also count the number of things often. Today I made jam and made 3 stacks. Thing 1 told me there were 3 towers of jam. We went for a walk and Thing 2 saw two mailboxes right together and told me there’s a mailbox, then he said there’s two mailboxes.

I guess I don’t have two babies anymore. It’s crazy that they have grown so fast, yet it seems like we’ve had them forever. I’m glad they are gaining some independence because soon we will have another baby at our house. I’m just over 31 weeks along, so less than 2 months left. Very exciting but we have a ton to get done.

Oh Thing 2

So last night I got home from work around 9:30, the kids always try to stay awake to see me when I close. They held out pretty late, but didn’t quite make it. I read for a little while then got ready for bed, I noticed a pull-up in the bathroom trash can (a little odd because we try to throw them away in the kitchen because it gets taken out more often).

At around two I woke up to the noise of Thing 2 going potty (which never happens in the night). He told me his sheets were wet, I went to check and they were soaked. I realized he must have gotten up while waiting up for me. Taken off his pull-up and put just his pajamas back on and went to sleep.

So it’s the middle of the night, dark and I am changing sheets, with a 2 year old telling me he wants Cars sheets on his bed. I was even using the Cars sheets he just couldn’t see in the dark. We were very lucky Thing 1 didn’t wake up, Thing 2 has a hard time keeping his voice down when he thinks he is not getting what he wants.
