Tonight while we were getting the kids ready for bed Thing 1 made up a rhyme. She sang, “nice, nice, everyday even when we don’t obey.”
I guess we are finally understanding rhymes a little bit better. We have been practicing by singing a little song.” ______ ______ These words rhyme, ________ _______ these words rhyme, rhyme along with me.”
We do things like “Pink, Sink these words rhyme, pink sink, these words rhyme, rhyme along with me.”
At the library they told us that practicing rhymes helps with reading. I guess we are getting ready to have some little readers at our house.
