We had a great day at the zoo. Maielle hurt her hand in the little wolf cave and then was pretty grouchy for a while. She had a lot of fun in the park area and then we saw the flamingos and she was happy. We saw all sorts of animals and the zoo in huge. The areas for the animals are large and we missed seeing a few due to the large forested enclosures.

We loved the bears, elephants, komodo dragon, gorillas, monkeys and flamingos. Porter’s favorite was the hippopotamus and now he opens his mouth like a hippo if you ask him (it was fun to watch them and we did see one open his mouth and snort).

Climbing on the monkeys was fun until Nathan reached up to adjust his had and fell off. It was scary for a few minutes but he was fine.

My jacket fell off the stroller and we realized it when we were in the African village. I checked lost and found and then Jake backtracked and found it (yeah). It was a relief to find it.

On the way home the kids looked over the map and circled everything we saw. It was fun to look at the map afterwards.
