We made a trip to Boise this weekend to spend Easter with the Whipples. We got up before dawn to make it to an Easter egg hunt that started at 11. Thing 1 acted sick in the car, we were worried she was going to get car sick so we stopped a few extra times, to get fresh air and to go potty. We made it to the Easter egg hunt but had to park far away and made it to the school at about 11:02 and everything was over. We played at a little park for a few minutes but there were a ton of kids so we went back to Becky’s house to play. The fire truck was at the Easter egg hunt.
We went to lunch at Tucanos with the whole family and then went to the hotel to “relax” for a while (like spending time in a hotel room with two year olds is ever relaxing). Then we went swimming with cousins and I invited a friend of mine from college to come with her family. It was great to catch up with her and see her family again. (No pictures of the swimming for fear that someone would catch one with me in it.)
After swimming we bathed and went to the courtyard to play until the pizza arrived. Thing 2 went with his uncles to pick up the pizza, it took forever so the kids didn’t get to bed until about 9:30. Thing 1 woke up about every hour screaming or Thing 2 needing water. It was exhausting. The end of trying to sleep occurred about 8 in the morning with Great Grandpa Whipple calling us to say he was heading home early and Thing 1 falling out of the bed.
