For Christmas this year we went to Burley to visit Jake’s parents. We were worried they would have to leave and go to Boise because Jake’s sister’s due date was December 22nd and she hadn’t had the baby yet. Lucky for us she held out until the 27th and we got to spend Christmas with family.
Thing 1 and Thing 2 are the perfect age for excitement at Christmas time. Thing 1 had a list for Santa on Thanksgiving. She wanted a purple candy cane, a unicorn, a ladybug and a colorful pillow. Thing 2 wanted 2 cars and a tractor. They both talked to Santa but wouldn’t sit on his lap, but Thing 1 gave him a hug after she chatted with him.

Santa did a pretty decent job and got the kids what they asked for and a few more toys. Christmas Eve we let them open pajamas that I made for them. P got some from Grandma and Grandpa.
Then we had went to bed and when we woke up Santa had been there. The twins woke up Grandma and Grandpa first then they went and woke up Uncle Tom and Aunt Lindsay. They found a penny downstairs and said that Santa left a magic penny and had put out the fire with his magic dust. Then they woke us up to see what he had brought.
There were a lot of presents Thing 2 brought went to find the present he got me first. Thing 1 got me a pink hula hoop.
After the presents were opened we had breakfast and played with lots of toys. Then we went to the Juvenile detention center to play games with the teenagers who couldn’t get out for Christmas. After that we drove home. It was a peaceful ride, the kids all slept almost the whole way home. We stopped at my parents’ house and had dinner and then we had the barn trek. My Dad read Luke 2 and then we sang Christmas songs. After that we gave family Christmas presents and had dessert. It was a busy day and we were exhausted. Grammy made the 3 and 4 year olds some new jammies with Charlynn’s help.
