We went to Boise for the weekend. I took the day off work on Friday, we drove 4 hours and went to the zoo. We had a little picnic in the park by the zoo. The kids had a lot of fun stretching their legs. They saw a goose and Thing 1 wanted to “pet” it so we told her to go try. Thing 2 went with her and they held hands walking toward the goose, it was really cute and I didn’t have the camera out, dang.
Then we went to the zoo. Becky (Jake’s sister) and her husband Jeff and daughter “B” went with us. We had a lot of fun and it was good to see Jeff, he has been serving in Iraq and is home on leave for a couple weeks. Thing 1 wanted to pet every animal she saw, then she was really nervous with the goats and sheep. Thing 2 fed the animals with no problem at all. The kids also loved the slides.
Then we went to our hotel, it was the first hotel experience with the kids. They loved it. They drew with the pen on the tablet that were by the phone. They climbed on the chairs and ran in the hallway. We took them swimming but I don’t have pictures of that, Becky took some pictures, so hopefully we will see those soon. Thing 1 loved swimming, Thing 2 was “all done” before we started. “B” enjoyed it but it was a little cold.
We had pizza at the hotel with Jake’s parents, Becky, Jeff, and Bridgett. Phil came later after work. It was fun to chat with everyone and let the kids show off their tricks. Jake often uses the kids as entertainment. The kids also showed “B” how to walk and she just wanted to keep up with them.
Saturday, we spent the day helping get ready for “B’s” first birthday party and then attending the party. It was at a little park and the kids loved the swings and the slides. The cupcakes were adorable. Becky and Jeff had a ton of friends and family show up for “B’s” special day. I think it might be nice to live in a subdivision with lots of young couples to meet and become friends with. Then we drove home and it was a long drive home. It reminded me why we don’t go to Boise or Salt Lake very often.
Sorry for all the pictures, but we had a lot of fun and we wanted to share it with you.
Fun! We think Uncle Jake makes a GREAT turtle. love, Emery and Chani!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun. They all have big smiles at the zoo and B looks like she is means business in the picture with the cake. Fun, I wish we could have made it.
